Lots of fun events coming up and it's time to ask for some hands to help. As always, you get free entrance to any show or activity.
-- Drag Storytime, Dec. 17
-- Naughty and Nice Holiday Cabaret
Most of the work involves, as on past occasions, taking/checking tickets at the door and helping orient the performers and audience once inside the venue (where's the washroom? Where's the bar? Is there wifi? how do I get a taxi?). Keeping the venue in good shape. Although some events are licensed, you will not be involved in checking ID or serving any food or drink. We have a separate caterer on each occasion and there is no table service.
All venues are accessible except the SPCC, which is partly accessible for Drag Story Time and the Dry Ice Party in February.
Swag Shop: In about two weeks we'll be taking delivery of our first load of anti-hate, pro-Stratford swag -- hoodies, t-shirts, beanies, toques and coffee mugs. I don't know if they'll be here in time for Dec. 17, but if they are, I hope to give one piece of apparel to each volunteer to wear on duty. Yours to keep. I'm hoping to set up an order-taking desk at Naughty And Nice. No cash involved. Just displaying samples and giving ppl info on how to order. We'll definitely have a supply for volunteers at Winter Pride in February. Order pick-ups will be at the SPCC and/or by Canada Post delivery.
